ABOUT ME

The oldest of four kids, I grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We still visit my folks often. Creating memories with my own family now!

Summer front porch swinging, running around my grandparent’s country home, and climbing through barns are some of my fondest childhood memories. (There ain’t nothing like a good ‘ol Iowa yard sale!)

My husband and I met as teenagers at church camp. (Arizona native + Iowa farm girl!)  He says he knew immediately that I was “the one”. I myself was in a total bubble and oblivious to his interest in getting to know me until I went back to Iowa…a long distance relationship didn’t stop the plans God had for us!

Fast forward 20+ years! We’re happily married, blessed with two kiddos, and call Phoenix home sweet home. We own a barn wood reclamation company, metal shop, and custom projects business. The desire to begin BARN WOOD WIFE comes from my own personal experience keeping up with an incredibly hard working and talented entrepreneur husband.  As well as being a co-owner, I keep overly busy running a household, homeschooling our children, staying involved in the community, and various other creative projects…”holy buckets” the list goes on and on!

I’m excited to launch into this new aspect, sharing life and business with you!

My goal for this website and blog is to fulfill a desire in my heart to grow something I’m truly passionate about. To feed my creative spirit  (maybe that’ll help boost my exhausted mom brain!) and give other folks, with an inkling of an idea, the confidence to go after it!

The vision that God has given to me is only a glimpse of what He has in store. So visit me here often, shake and howdy in real life, and hang on tight for this joyous journey we call life!
